Truth be told, the genesis of this photo book project was in part due to a long term relationship dissolving and in part due to the world altering effects of the covid-19 pandemic.
My mind has always been one that wanders and as a corollary one that needs to be reined in lest it leads me towards inconsequential endeavours particularly after challenging times.
I needed to channel my efforts and pay homage to the spirit of wanderlust, and so ensued my proclamation to record my runacations in 50 capital cities AND additionally run 50 half marathons before I turn 50.
Subsequently the project morphed into the distillation and succinct additional documentation of my life’s acquired wisdom on my path to supposed success as a Neurosurgeon in Oxford.
This collection of photographs compiled from the first 50 countries visited as part of this DreamWANDR project, record a brief portal into local life, as seen though my eyes, along with insets of the record of my run in the capital cities and my pearls of wisdom.
Moral of the story - when times are challenging, dig your heels in and fight! Be optimistic, be tenacious, be successful!
